Recently while playing videos, I noticed a cool new iOS 9 feature: pan and zoom. Before, when watching a video in portrait I could double tap to zoom in, but I had no control over where the video was playing. On iOS 9, you can now double tap a video, pinch and zoom it, and pan it to different areas.
This is a real boon for me because I often lock my iPhone to portrait and its annoying for short videos to unlock it to play those videos and if I want to see something specific I can.
This isn’t a big deal, or a big feature – just a small overlooked little area that finally all these years later makes me a little bit happy 🙂
I double checked an iPhone 6 running iOS 8 recently to see if my memory was correct.
