We are currently aware and dealing with issues affecting Pocket Informant iOS/Mac sync with Google Calendar, Google Tasks, and the “Sign In with Google”. This is also affecting Google Tasks on Pocket Informant Android. We are working with Google to resolve this ASAP.
Google has made changes to their OAuth approvals and it has been affecting many apps connecting with Oauth. We have submitted our app for review weeks ago and we are waiting for approval or responses from Google.
Google is requiring developers to request “least privileges” on API requests. Because Informant requests access to Calendar, Tasks, and Gmail (for purposes of converting emails to task), we are considered a “high risk” application and the review process goes slower.
We are making plans for multiple outcomes of this change from Google. One possible outcome is changes to the feature that converts emails to tasks. We may need to remove the option to delete an email.
We will keep you updated on progress.
[Update July 30, 2020: We updated our submission request yesterday to exclude the full permission for deleting emails. We are attempting to get this approved by Google & may or may not attempt to bring the feature back in the future. ]
[Update July 31, 2020 1:24 MDT, We have received a reply from Google. They are requesting us to remove the request to edit/delete mails items. We are complying with this. This will mean that Pocket Informant will NOT be able to delete an email after converting it to a task. We are re-submitting this change to Google for approval. Hopefully they will approve the Oauth consent screen this time]
[Update August 6, 2020 10:17 AM MDT: We’ve submitted the required changes that Google requested. At this time, we are still waiting for a reply.]
[Update August 13, 2020 12:17 AM MDT: Google approved our request and our account is now verified by Google. Our Google Task and Google Calendar features are up and running again. Despite being approved, we are still experiencing issues with our Gmail feature. We are looking into it and will release a fix as soon as possible.]
As of this morning – August 13th – I can no longer sync Google Tasks or Google Calendar on my iOS or my OSX versions of Informant.
That’s a result of a different Google issue. Google just did an update and we released an update to align our code with theirs. You can find that update in the app store.

As user of Pocket Informant over 15 years , older version then Informant 5, I have also issues to sync with Google calendar as it’s explained on this page.
So I’m a bit frustrated that on emails with Informant , the only solution proposed was to move to a payable version to solve the sync issues, which will probably not correct it.
It’s not very fair from Informant and as I read, solution will probably come soon to be able to sync again with Google calendar.
And if not, I will let down Informant and use Google calendar as many other frustrated users of PI.
We appreciate your many years as a loyal and dedicated Informant user. Google did an update to the services. Informant 4 is no longer supported or updated by our developers, which means that once Google updated their code, Informant 4 was no longer compatible with Google. If you’d like, you could get a free two week trial for Informant 5 and try it out.
Would the OAuth issues be the reasons I’m seeing hundreds of sync errors between Informant and my 2 Google accounts?

How do those of us in the beta group get the iOS update? How about for MacOS?
After many years of using the free iPhone and paid iPad previous version, google calendar sync has stopped working. From above I understand you will not fix this.
I downloaded the new version, but, it does not allow to sync without a subscription, nor has many other features.
Is there a way to try those features out before committing?
Yes, you can get a free two week trial. Just cancel before two weeks if you decide it’s not for you.
I have Error 403: disallowed_useragent error when trying to get my google calendars to sync on Informant 5 – they were working for ages before. Have been a loyal customer for 15 years. iPhone 11 with latest updates. disabled exisitng sync connection, tried to establish a new one without removing old – google calendars still failing to sync. help please!
