While the busy elves here are working on Desktop and Informant 5, we are ecstatic to announce the release of Pocket Informant 4.70 for iOS bringing our own Apple Watch app and better integration with Apple Reminders. Here are the top improvements in 4.70:
- Apple Watch app – view your next two weeks of events, any task that’s overdue/due, project tasks, and starred tasks as well as the next upcoming event
- Import Reminders into any Project – for example automatically import new Reminders you create with Siri to your Informant Sync Project
- Better performance
We’ve also made many other improvements, fixed bugs, and continued to improve our color-handling. Also new in this release is our Russian localization.
Furthermore Informant 4.70 isn’t just a small improvement over 4.62 – its actually built off the tested-in-production portions of Desktop Informant and Pocket Informant 5. This brings about better performance, reliability, and up-to-date behaviors. Not only have we improved reliability and performance by using these newer modules from Desktop Informant but we’ve got some great things coming in future releases.
Lately we’ve been getting more and more questions about Informant 5 because its been over a year since 4.0 was released. Please note that we do not have anything to announce at this time, but we expect to announce more in the future when we get closer to release.
Thanks everyone and I hope you will enjoy Watch Informant and Informant 4.70 as much as I am.
When will we see this in the App Store?
It’s Live now. Yay!!!
I am amazed with the significant increase in performance on both my iPhone 6+ and my iPad4. Congratulations on another job well done.
The watch app does not sync events from the iOS calendars. Is this by design? If so, will this feature be added or are users required to switch to native PI calendars?
Actually…it does. It works fine on my Watch and all the Watches we have at WebIS. It also worked fine for the vast majority of our beta testers and for most Watch users. However we know that for some people it does not work. Since we cannot reproduce the problem we don’t yet know what it is. However, we have some potential ideas and we are testing it with a few people we added to our beta team that are experiencing the problem.
I can confirm that none of my calendar events will sync to my Apple Watch. I’ve added events, changed the calendar they use, and rebooted my phone. To date, it is one of the few apps that I have that does not work.
Please grab 4.71.
Hi
I Love PIM and always upgrade when a new version arrives. But 4.70 crashes. I can not get it to start up Even.
Please fix this or submit a solution so I can manage my info again
Hi Torfal. If you are using iOS 7 – then 4.70 is not compatible with it. 4.71 will bring iOS 7 compatibility back again. We cannot just submit without thorough testing however.
I would strongly suggest upgrading to iOS 8 anyway – this is the last iOS 7 compatible version we plan to release.
