We’re happy to announce that for tomorrow’s release we can officially welcome back the Today Widget (this is not a home-screen iOS 14 widget). After much work on iOS 14 we have fixed the old iOS Today Style Widget and have brought small tweaks and improvements. Now that we have reached this milestone in our iOS 14 set of focused releases look forward to more updates in the near future.
Exporting Notes:
You can now export single notes and audio notes! (Multi-export will be coming in the months to come)
Support notifications:
We have revamped our support in order to allow us to help our customers faster than before and now support messages will show you a notification even when you are not within the app.
Fixes and improvements:
- Unlocking Informant when a password is set should be faster than ever, and some rare crashes and issues resolved.
- Other misc crashes and UI tweaks for iOS 14.
- Added a section in settings for feedback from our users
- Privacy changes:
At Informant we value our users’ privacy, and working with iOS 14 apis to achieve better a greater level of privacy while still allowing us to provide the best support possible.
For another small bit of Informant news, I wanted to introduce myself as the newest member of the team. My name is Jen, and I will mainly be working on the project and product management side of things, and will likely be the main point of contact online, other than for technical support. We also have another addition that joined the team a few months ago – Stephen. He is now the lead iOS and macOS developer, and will be working hard this year to help implement some of the requests that many of you have. Let us know if you have any questions, and we look forward to hearing your feedback on tomorrow’s release.
I am usually glad to see an update, especially after a period of quiescence. This one leaves me somewhat confused. Why are you excited about making the widget compatible with the *previous* OS? Until it is iOS14 compliant, it appears rather useless, give than it cannot be moved to the top of the list.
I am generally pleased to see an update, especially after a period fo quiescence. This one, however, leaves me a bit perplexed. What is the point of trumpeting the fact that you have achieved compatibility with the *previous* iOS? Until it is iOS1 14 compliant, it appears rather useless, given that it cannot be moved to the top of the list.
The Today widget is an entirely different product from an iOS 14 widget, but the Today widget is still compatible with iOS 14, just not on the homescreen. Last year was a bit of a rough one with some turnover with developers, so we are playing catchup and are excited to get to a point where our updates are in-line with the current operating systems our product is on.
Sorry for the duplication. A “Captcha” error made me think I had not been able to post my question.
