Can other apps use your Beacons?
iBeacons have an identifier which is what Informant uses to identify Informant beacons. Any third party beacon can be programmed with the identifier and used with Informant. Our beacons are already pre-programmed, power-adjusted, have great battery life, and are tested with Informant. You can also use our beacons with other software that is set to watch for our identifier: A77B94E5-F974-4B6D-B0DD-E3064FCCAA44
How big is the Informant Beacon?
The Informant Beacon is about the size of 5 or 6 dollar coins stacked on top of each other. It also comes with a 3M sticky patch to mount the Beacon anywhere.
Which version of Pocket Informant does it work with?
Currently Informant Beacons work with Pocket Informant for iOS 4.0 and above. Android support is coming soon, but will require a device with a working Bluetooth LE 4.0 hardware.
What's the difference between the personal beacon and Informant Beacon?
Personal Beacons use the iOS 7.1 ability to broadcast your device as its own beacon. This functionality uses up the battery of your iOS device and requires that you have Informant running with your screen on.
Hardware beacons like the Informant Beacon are fully supported by Apple and WebIS and will work in all future iOS versions.
How do I setup the Informant Beacon?
Setup your Beacon
- Place your Informant Beacon where you want it to be.
- Open Pocket Informant 4.0 on your iOS device and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Go to the Settings Tab and choose “iBeacons” and tap on “Name Nearby Beacons”
- Wait until you see your beacon show up and tap on it.
- Name it.
Use your Beacon
- Create a new task and tap on the location field.
- Type in the name of your beacon and tap on it in the auto-complete menu that shows up.

Tap on the location button, then the bookmark button, and then the Beacons tab to select your Beacon.
How long does the battery last?
The battery in the Informant Beacon is a CR2477 battery that will last around 1 year and can be very easily replaced.

We currently are shipping iBeacons within the United States and many international locations. Please check the list in the order system.
What is your refund policy?
We offer refunds to all customers within 30 days of your purchase. If you are not satisfied with our Informant Beacon, then simply contact support so we can determine if your issue can be resolved, otherwise we will provide an address you can return the item to. Once we receive the Beacon back, we will refund your purchase.
